The Weight setting alters the influence each constraint type provides to the overall, global solution.
If you are only using one layer, this can be left at the default, 100%.
If you are combining different constraints in several layers, you may need to increase this weight to values much higher than 100%.

Animation demonstrating raising the Weight value from 0 (zero) % to 100%, to blend the Collisions layer into the existing friction forces.
This controls how stiff the collision is.
Essentially, a dynamic 'spring' is created to keep the particles apart (to keep them from intersecting).

Collision Stiffness animated from 100% to 7%. To prevent particles from constant bouncing, a Friction layer has been added, with a Connection Limit value of 1.
